MILTECH HELLAS S.A offers a facility dedicated to the production of demanding Electrical Harnesses for military aircraft's and special defense land system.
The facility is equipped with the latest technology brand new machines including among others:
- Laser printing & cutting MRO 200S
- Computerized over-braiding machines with 24, 32, and 48 carriers for metal and textile braiding
- Special 8m benches for the implementation of long bay-harnesses.
The produced harnesses are automatically tested by using computerized ATE Testers for harnesses, which support:
- Continuity testing for over 5.000 points simultaneously
- High Voltage testing up to 1500 V
- Dielectric strength & insulation resistance testing
Harness Manufacturing Process
1. Incoming inspection and storage of materials in specific areas of MILTECH facilities.
Equipment: Racks and showcases specially designed by MILTECH HELLAS S.A.
Process: Cable reeling and mounting on the special showcases.
2. Cutting and laser marking according to the Client’s specifications.
Equipment: LASELEC MRO-200S.
Process: This is a laser-marking machine marking the cable features on it (cable diameter up to 1mm) and cutting it with accuracy according to the Client’s specifications.
3. Wiring with connectors.
Equipment: Two (2) 8m & 4m tables and tools manufactured by MILTECH HELLAS S.A.
Process: Wiring with connectors with appropriate wire configuration.
4. Over braiding:Metal (Harness protection against interferences), Textile(insulation).
Equipment: SPIRALTEX Braider of Type 24, 32 & 48.
Process: Special protection (over-braiding) of cabling against electromagnetic interferences through a steel strand mesh and protection against wear though a strand mesh.
5. Quality controls (continuity, dielectric strength, high voltage).
Equipment: MILTECH - Testing CIRRIS CH+96 (the core of the tester). A new autonomous system of up to 2048 testing points is going to be provided. At the moment, our Company has a full system of 256 testing points. The existing system will be upgraded to a console, which will be used for testing simple cables (up to 4 branches), whereas the new system will be used for testing the 3 bays (cabling with 64 branches).
Process: Concurrent testing of wires of up to 1000 testing points to obtain continuity, dielectric strength and high voltage (up to 1500Volt) according to the European Standards.
6. Packaging and delivery to the Client.
