The new Head Down Display will utilize the latest Active Matrix Liquid Crystal Display (AMLCD) technology and shall be a drop fit replacement of existing Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) - based units, which experience obsolescence issues and high maintenance costs. The AMLCD display incorporates full color AMLCD technology, providing both stroke graphics and high-resolution video. No modifications are required to either the Mirage 2000 aircraft or associated aircraft systems.
The AMLCD Head Down Display is designed to operate and survive in the harsh military aircraft environment and will ensure that the pilot has access to all critical display information under all lighting conditions.
Modern electronics packaging and assembly principles are combined with state-of-the-art design and analysis to produce a Head Down Display for the Mirage 2000 aircraft that is rugged, reliable, compact and cost effective.
