ABOUT THE PROJECT
A Delphinion (ancient Greek: Δελφίνιον) found in ancient Greece, was a temple of Apollo Delphinios (“Apollo of the womb”) also known as “Delphic Apollo” or “Pythian Apollo”, the principal god of Delphi, who was regarded as the protector of ports and ships. The name “Delphinion” illustrates the current study, as the latter is expected to perform a holistic approach on the Port protection, by investigating the application of SATCOM technology in future transport safety and security.
The project aims to identify and assess, in collaboration with users and stakeholders, new applications which may benefit most from an increased use of secure SATCOM solutions and in particular of a Next Generation SATCOM infrastructure.
